Nude Man Found In Summertown Resident’s Driveway
A resident of Railroad Bed Pike in Summertown notified law enforcement officials last week when he looked out to find a man in his driveway wearing nothing but a blanket and shoes.
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department located the man lying on the ground behind the resident’s barn. He told deputies he was just resting. Reports indicate that he was covered in scratches.
When questioned, the man told deputies that he resides in Lewis County and had been looking at property in the undeveloped Whispering Pines Subdivision. He said he was searching for property on which to place a camper.
The man told deputies that he had driven into the subdivision and ran out of gas. He said that while walking he fell into a creek, got his clothes wet, and that was the reason he was unclothed.
Deputies drove the man to the subdivision to get a gas can from his car. When they stopped at the gate and asked for the pass code, the man said he did not know it, that “this gate wasn’t here yesterday.”
He told deputies that he had entered from the area of Highway 20. Although they checked, deputies said they found no access point.
The man’s car could not be located during a search of the area. Deputies then contacted authorities with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department. The man was transported to the county line and released into their custody.
